Bowmore 1969 50 Year Old (Preorder)

Bowmore 1969 50 Year Old is the final release in the distillery's prestigious Vaults Series, a collection created to showcase exceptionally rare stocks matured within Bowmore's historic warehouses. Distilled in 1969, the whisky spent 50 years maturing in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled in 2021 at a natural cask strength of 46.9% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Freesia, dried geranium and lily of the valley lead into Chablis, citrus and gooseberry, followed by acacia honey, apple pie, vanilla, and cream.

Palate: Initially dry and floral with carnation before developing sweeter layers of lemon meringue, grilled almonds, and crème caramel fudge, accented by white pepper, nutmeg, oak spice, and light coconut.

Finish: Lightly sweet and warming with lingering floral character and delicate malty flavours.
