Bowmore 40 Year Old 2021 (Preorder)

Bowmore 40 Year Old 2021 is an exceptionally limited release from Bowmore Distillery, established in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal and recognized as Islay's oldest licensed distillery. Matured for 40 years in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon and sherry casks, the whisky demonstrates how Bowmore's distinctive fruit and peat character evolves through extended maturation. After four decades, the smoke becomes exceptionally refined, allowing richer notes of exotic fruit, honey, treacle, chocolate, nuts, and mature oak to take centre stage.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich honey and treacle mingle with exotic fruits, beeswax, and caramel, creating a concentrated yet elegant introduction shaped by four decades of maturation.

Palate: Deep and luxurious with layers of pipe tobacco, chocolate, warming spices, leather, chestnuts, and praline, balanced by mature oak and Bowmore's increasingly delicate coastal character.

Finish: Exceptionally long and lingering, with chocolate, nuts, warming spice, mature oak, and subtle traces of refined Islay smoke gradually fading from the palate.
