About Murray McDavid Founded in 1994 by Mark Reynier (current CEO of Waterford and Renegade), Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (Springbank Distillery), Murray McDavid quickly made a name for itself with maturation in exquisite barrels. The team is also known for taking over and “rescuing” the Bruichladdich Distillery. Bunnahabhain 13yo 2008 Distilled at Bunnahabhain in 2008, this single malt spent the final two years of its 13-year maturation in a Margaux Bordeaux wine cask. In 2022, a total of 383 bottles were independently released by Murray McDavid for the Benchmark collection. Tasting Note by  Master of Malt Nose Dense buttered malt loaf, dark chocolate cranberries, toasted nuts, and floral barley. Palate Cinnamon pastries lead to jammy fruit and berries, with layers of mouthcoating malt and sweet baking spice. Finish Poached stone fruits, floral tea, and oily oak.
