Caperdonich Aged 20 Years Artist 10th Anniversary

Founded in 1897, the Caperdonich distillery was put to sleep five years later. Reopened in 1965 under the name Glen Grant n ° 2, it was dismantled in 2002 and demolished in 2010. Although extremely confidential, this single malt enjoys a very high reputation among amateurs. After the sensational Caperdonich 1966 sherry cask bottled at the end of the 1990s by Signatory Vintage and the no less remarkable vintage 1972 “from Huntly to Paris”, aged in bourbon casks and selected by La Maison du Whiskey from the house of Duncan Taylor, this version joins the very small circle of the best Caperdonich. Absolutely remarkable, it is one of the flagship bottlings of our Artist range, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Profile: slender, the first nose is a subtle blend of citrus fruits (lemon), vanilla, field flowers (dandelion), ripe fruits (pear) and spices (black pepper). When aired, it becomes spicy (Cayenne) then new fruits (mirabelle plum, pineapple, banana) enrich the fruity register of the first nose. Lively, the attack on the palate is lemony and fruity (yellow melon). On the mid-palate, malted barley is a wonderful herbaceous transition. The aftertaste is medicinal, vanilla and floral (lily). Rich, the start of the finish is spicy (ginger), exotic (guava), honey (acacia) and herbaceous (flax). The finish is minty, lactic (coconut) and slightly animal (bacon).
