Carmen Reserva Carménère

Viña Carmen, founded in 1850, is one of Chile’s oldest wineries and is closely associated with the rediscovery of Carménère in the 1990s. The Reserva range represents a balance of quality and accessibility, showcasing varietal character and regional expression.

Carménère is well-suited to Chile’s warm, dry climate, particularly in regions such as the Central Valley, where long growing seasons allow for full ripening while retaining some of the grape’s signature herbaceous notes.

The wine is typically fermented in stainless steel, followed by ageing in oak barrels to add structure and subtle spice. The style emphasizes balance between ripe fruit, soft tannins, and gentle savoury complexity.

Finish: Soft and rounded, with lingering fruit and a lightly savoury edge
