The Japanese Chichibu distillery has long held a cult following. Founded by Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the founder of the Hanyu distillery, the distillery has time and time again produced exceptional whisky to much critical acclaim. This and the limited output from the distillery have led to Chichibu whisky proving extremely scarce, so suffice to say that when a superstar independent bottler like Adelphi comes forward with a single cask bottling it is beyond exciting. Matured in a single refill bourbon barrel for seven years to give a no holds barred showcase of the Chichbu distillery character.
