Clynelish 24 Years Old Sansibar 10th Anniversary 1996

Clynelish 24 Years Old Sansibar 10th Anniversary 1996 is a single cask Clynelish, released by independent bottler Sansibar for their 10th anniversary. The whisky was distilled in 1996 and matured in a single bourbon cask for 24 years. It was bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 54.8%. The original Clynelish distillery was founded in 1819 by the 1st Duke of Sutherland. The demand for Clynelish whisky soared during the whisky boom of the 1960s, and the distillery had to increase their production. In 1967, a new and larger distilling facility was built next to the old one. The old distillery (also known as Clynelish B) was renamed Brora and continued to operate in tandem with the new Clynelish distillery until it inevitably closed in 1983. The old Brora buildings are now used by Clynelish as a visitor center and warehouse. Only 283 bottles of Clynelish 24 Years Old Sansibar 10th Anniversary 1996 have been released.
