Coriole Chenin Blanc

Coriole Vineyards, established in 1967 in McLaren Vale, is a family-owned winery known for its pioneering work with alternative varieties in Australia, particularly Chenin Blanc. The estate has some of the oldest Chenin Blanc plantings in the country, contributing to the wine’s depth and character.

McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate, moderated by coastal influences, allows Chenin Blanc to ripen fully while retaining acidity. Coriole’s approach emphasizes balance and site expression, often producing a dry style with both freshness and texture.

Fermentation typically takes place in a combination of stainless steel and older oak, with lees contact used to build mouthfeel and complexity. The wine is crafted to showcase both the bright and structural aspects of the variety.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale straw with green highlights
Nose: Aromas of apple, pear, and citrus, with hints of quince, honey, and light floral notes
Palate: Light- to medium-bodied, with crisp acidity and flavours of orchard fruit, lemon, and subtle stone fruit; a slight textural richness adds depth
Finish: Clean and persistent, with lingering citrus, mineral, and lightly savoury notes

Cellaring & Pairings
Enjoy now for freshness or cellar for 5–10 years, during which it can develop honeyed and complex characteristics.
Pairs well with seafood, poultry, and salads, as well as dishes with spice or acidity. Also complements goat cheese, vegetable dishes, and lighter, herb-driven cuisine.
