The village of Saint-Vérand has a “d”, the appellation does not. It dates from 1971, it is the last appellation granted in the Mâconnais region. Jurassic limestone prolongs the limestone layers of the Côte d’Or, ideal for Chardonnay. The color is close to that of Pouilly-Fuissé with a golden hue with green highlights. The nose reveals subtle musky notes. To be eaten with frog legs, a Milanese veal cutlet, seafood, … “A cheerful wine, very fresh! It is close to Pouilly-Fuissé. The aromas are reminiscent of Chardonnay, and reveal subtle musky notes. On the palate, a pleasant roundness”.
