On the nose there is warm milk chocolate, stewed raisins and roasted hazelnuts, with a soft overlay of vanilla and a hint of orange peel. The palate is full and creamy with layers of fruitcake, dates and dark berries supported by oak spice and a gentle peppery warmth. The finish lingers with dried fruit, mellow chocolate and a touch of oak tannin. This whisky is best enjoyed neat to fully experience its richness, or with a small splash of water to open up its fruit, soften the spice and bring out subtler flavours. Use a tulip glass or Glencairn to help those aromas shine.
