Glaetzer 2022 Amon-Ra

The 2022 Amon-Ra is sourced from some of the Barossa Valley’s oldest dry-grown Shiraz vines, many dating back over a century. The vintage delivered low yields and intense concentration, allowing the fruit to be harvested with exceptional flavour depth and natural balance. Fermentation was carried out with careful extraction to build power and structure, followed by extended aging in high-quality oak to support the wine’s density and longevity. This meticulous approach results in a Shiraz that is bold yet controlled, built for long-term cellaring.

Tasting Notes:
Deep and commanding, the wine opens with aromas of blackberry, black plum, and blueberry, layered with notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and exotic spice. The palate is full-bodied and muscular, showcasing concentrated dark fruit framed by firm, finely textured tannins. A long, powerful finish reveals savoury undertones, mocha, and hints of pepper, underscoring the wine’s intensity, balance, and impressive aging potential.
