Glendronach Ode to the Dark

The GlenDronach Ode to the Dark is part of The Master's Anthology, a three-expression collection introduced in December 2024 by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie. Bottled at 50.8% ABV, this non-age-statement release emphasizes concentrated dark fruit, chocolate and coffee flavours, supported by warming oak spice.

Unlike GlenDronach's traditional combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, Ode to the Dark is matured exclusively in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks.
PX sherry is known for its intensely rich, sweet character, and its casks contribute flavours of raisins, dates, dark cherries, chocolate and caramelized sugar.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep black garnet.
Nose: Rich mocha, black cherry and dark chocolate, followed by crème brûlée, raisins, brown sugar and ginger.
Palate: Velvety espresso and crème caramel develop into black grapes, dark fruit and mint chocolate ganache.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dark chocolate, coffee, dried fruit and gentle oak spice.
