Glenfarclas Family Cask 1986 Summer 2022

The family-run distillery released this Glenfarclas Single Cask Whiskey from 1986 in the summer of 2022 for their Family Casks series. The single malt whiskey spent its cask aging from 1986 to 2022 in Refill Butt 4774. The distillery bottled the Scotch at cask strength at 47.5% by volume. As a natural Scotch, it also comes without coloring and chill filtration. Nosing: When pouring, the whiskey fills the nose with a fruity and aromatic note. Aromas of blackberries and dried fruits are dominant, supported by chocolate, honey and a spicy woody note. Tasting: The Glenfarclas Family Casks 1986 has a taste of berries like raspberries, blackberries and wild berries that spread on the tongue. There are also nuances of nuts and chocolate, which are supported by vanilla and leave a sweet note. Finish: The finish of the Scotch is long-lasting and ends with impressions of wild berries. One can detect sherry and notes of cocoa that linger.
