Legent Yamazaki Cask Finish

Legent® Yamazaki Cask Finish Blend is a special edition inspired by unique perspectives in whiskey-making. It began as a superb Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, crafted from American grain by Fred in Kentucky, then traveled across the Pacific Ocean to Japan for secondary aging and blending at the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery, the birthplace of Japanese Whisky, on the outskirts of Kyoto. At Yamazaki, Shinji matured the whiskey in carefully chosen French Oak wine casks and Spanish Oak sherry casks to impart rich notes and a vivid spiced finish. An additional reserve was selected for finishing in sherry casks previously used for maturing Yamazaki Single Malt Japanese Whisky. These exceptional casks were chosen to introduce a full-bodied malty depth and imbue nuanced layers of complexity. Finally, the three uniquely finished batches were blended with some of the original Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey before returning home to Clermont for bottling. The resulting expression is a harmonious and complex balance of oaky warmth, smooth brightness, and a distinctly long finish.
