Loch Lomond Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt

Loch Lomond The Original Oloroso Sherry Cask is a new addition to the Highland distillery’s Original Series, launched in March 2026. Rather than building an intensely dark, heavily sherried whisky, Loch Lomond uses Oloroso as a finishing layer over its naturally bright and fruity house style.

The whisky begins with unpeated spirit distilled through Loch Lomond’s distinctive Straight Neck stills and collected at high strength. These unusual stills give the distillery considerable control over the character of its spirit, with this expression emphasizing vibrant orchard fruit before the influence of maturation is introduced.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet honey, vanilla and raisins, combining fresh malt character with the first signs of richer Oloroso influence.

Palate: Toffee and brown sugar bring a rounded sweetness, balanced by juicy peach and fresh orange. The sherry finish adds richness while leaving the brighter orchard and citrus fruit clearly intact.

Finish: Medium in length, smooth and rounded with gentle spice and lingering dried fruit.
