Marques de Caceres 2021 Gaudium Rioja

Gaudium is the flagship red of Marqués de Cáceres, produced from tiny parcels of Tempranillo vines over 70 years old, including some pre-phylloxera vines more than a century old. Vineyards range from approximately 400–650 metres in Rioja Alta and up to 740 metres in Rioja Alavesa, with very low yields of less than one kilogram of fruit per vine.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep burgundy with dark, concentrated highlights.
Nose: Ripe blackberry and black cherry with rosemary, thyme, clove, mocha, scrubland and finely toasted French oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and enveloping, with concentrated dark fruit, polished tannins and finely integrated oak supported by fresh acidity.
Finish: Long and persistent, with lingering black fruit, spice, cocoa and savoury herbal notes.
