Master of Malt Cambus 34 Year Old 1990

This release comes from Cambus Distillery, once a pioneering grain whisky producer in the Lowlands of Scotland. Founded in the early 19th century, Cambus became a key contributor to the development of continuous column still distillation and played a significant role in the rise of grain whisky — an essential component of many classic Scotch blends. The distillery ceased production in 1993, making bottles like this rare survivors of its legacy. The spirit in this release was distilled in 1990 and enjoyed an extended maturation, first in a refill barrel and later finished in a rum barrel, before being independently bottled by Master of Malt in a strictly limited edition.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh fruit salad and brown butter cookies with maple pancakes and candied nuts, evolving into waxed citrus, fresh leather and polished oak.

Palate: Fruity and zesty, marked by waffles and honeyed melon with hints of lychee, buttery fudge and a sprinkle of drying spice.

Finish: Leather and oak spice with cigar box notes, boozy stewed fruits, butter biscuits and honeycomb wax lingering long after the last sip
