Master of Malt Ledaig 23 Year Old 1995

Master of Malt Ledaig 23 Year Old 1995

A rare and refined single malt Scotch that marries deep, smoky peat with rich sherry-inspired complexity. Distilled in 1995 at the iconic Tobermory Distillery on Scotland’s Isle of Mull and matured for over two decades in a refill hogshead before a nuanced finish in oloroso sherry octaves, this whisky delivers a luscious interplay of creamy sweetness, gentle peat smoke, nutty richness and vibrant fruit notes: all in a strictly limited release of just 188 bottles.

Master of Malt Ledaig 23 Year Old

This expression hails from Tobermory Whisky Distillery, the only distillery on the Hebridean Isle of Mull, originally founded in 1798 and historically known as Ledaig — meaning “safe haven” in Gaelic.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich and expressive, with banana flambé and rum-soaked raisins layered over butter fudge, toasted hazelnuts and a ribbon of coastal peat smoke, lifted by gentle oak spice.

Palate: Creamy and indulgent, unfolding with chewy caramel and maple-glazed nuts, dark chocolate, warming baking spices and earthy peat, balanced by robust malt sweetness and sherried depth.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering smoky sweetness, roasted coffee and cocoa, flashes of candied orange peel and drying oak tannin, leaving a savoury, softly spiced impression.
