Meikle Tòir “The Turbo” 2025

This expression is part of Meikle Tòir’s Turbo series, produced at The GlenAllachie Distillery under the guidance of Master Distiller Billy Walker. It represents the third annual iteration of the highly sought-after peated release, built around mainland peat from St. Fergus and matured for five years in a mix of American virgin oak casks and oloroso sherry hogsheads. The resulting whisky features a phenolic content of 72 PPM — significantly higher than the core range — and highlights a bold, smoky Speyside style that has captivated collectors and peat enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Manuka honey and toasted caramel with smoked cedarwood and subtle treacle sweetness, accented by spiced orange peel hinting at depth and complexity.

Palate: Heather honey and roasted hazelnuts lead into layers of ginger and mocha, supported by smouldering oak and rich dark chocolate, bringing both smoky power and cask-driven richness.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering plum jam and deep oak spice, the smoke carries through into a satisfyingly bold close.
