Michele Chiarlo Gavi Le Marne

Michele Chiarlo is one of Piedmont’s most respected family-owned wineries, founded in 1956 and renowned for crafting wines that express the unique character of the region’s most important appellations. While celebrated for Barolo and Barbaresco, the estate also produces outstanding white wines that highlight the finesse and terroir of Piedmont.

Le Marne is sourced from carefully selected vineyards within the Gavi DOCG, where Cortese thrives on ancient marine soils rich in limestone and clay. The name "Le Marne" references the region’s distinctive marl soils, which contribute freshness, minerality, and structure to the wine.

Colour: Pale straw yellow with green-gold reflections

Nose: Aromas of lemon, lime, green apple, and pear layered with notes of white flowers, citrus blossom, and subtle almond

Palate: Light- to medium-bodied, with bright acidity and flavours of citrus, orchard fruit, and white peach. A pronounced mineral character adds precision and freshness, while lees ageing contributes subtle texture and depth

Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering citrus, floral notes, and the characteristic almond nuance associated with Cortese
