Mostowie 1979-40 Year Old Artist #11

It is always a renewed pleasure to taste this single malt produced by the Miltonduff distillery from 1964 to 1981. Impressively lively and fresh, this version is reminiscent in more ways than one of the magnificent Mosstowie 1973 from our Artist #2 range. Extremely complex, its aromatic and gustatory palette deploys medicinal, spicy, honeyed, fruity, herbaceous and empyreumatic tones whose plenitude is matched only by class.Nose : noble, elegant. Medicinal (tiger balm), spicy (black pepper, nutmeg), liquorice and honey (acacia, lavender), the first nose is particularly voluptuous. Allowed to breathe, candied pears, raisins, beeswax and scents of jasmine take over the aromatic palette. Increasingly chocolatey and praline, it is constantly growing in power. Nuts, cane sugar and chestnut scents bring a lot of nobility to the first stage of tasting.Appearance : deep old gold.Mouth : fine, balanced. Very distinguished, the attack on the palate is refreshed by flavors of chlorophyll, pine resin and lime blossom honey. The pulpy mid-palate invites us to bite into fruits bursting with sugar (grape, pear, mirabelle plum). Gradually, almond milk and maple syrup spread over the taste buds. The aftertaste is slightly camphoric, empyreumatic (incense) and herbaceous (rosemary, dried bay leaf).Finish : velvety, greedy. Revealing flavors of vanilla flan and crème brûlée, the start of the finish also reveals aniseed and infused notes (chamomile, green tea, gentian) of great expressive beauty. Remarkably fresh, the finish gradually becomes liquoricey and subtly woody. In the retro-olfaction, cocoa beans, shoe polish and eucalyptus scents emphasize the nobility of the taste palette. From the empty glass escape coffee beans and chestnut cream.
