Padelletti 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva

Founded in 1571, Padelletti is one of Montalcino's oldest family-owned estates and remains one of the region's most traditional producers. Located just northeast of the medieval town of Montalcino, the estate farms organically inspired vineyards and continues to produce Brunello in a classic style, emphasizing elegance, purity, and longevity over extraction or heavy oak influence. The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is produced only in exceptional vintages from the estate's finest parcels of 100% Sangiovese Grosso. The outstanding 2019 growing season delivered fruit with exceptional balance, concentration, and freshness, resulting in a Riserva of remarkable finesse. After extended maceration and traditional fermentation, the wine is matured for several years in large Slavonian oak casks before extended bottle ageing prior to release.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep garnet ruby with remarkable clarity.

Nose: Intensely aromatic, offering wild cherry, raspberry, dried rose petals, violet, Mediterranean herbs, leather, cinnamon, star anise, and subtle earthy minerality.

Palate: Full-bodied yet remarkably elegant, with flavours of ripe Marasca cherry, wild raspberry, blood orange, licorice, clove, and savoury herbs. Silky, finely woven tannins and vibrant acidity create exceptional balance, while saline minerality adds depth and precision.

Finish: Exceptionally long and graceful, lingering with red berries, floral notes, spice, mineral complexity, and refined tannins that promise decades of evolution.

While approachable with several hours of decanting, this Riserva will continue to evolve beautifully for 20 years or more, with an ideal drinking window from 2028–2045.
