Penley Clarendon Cabernet Sauvignon

Penley Estate was founded in 1988 by descendants of two historic South Australian wine families, the Penfolds and Tolleys. While the estate itself is based in Coonawarra, this limited 2021 Cabernet comes from the celebrated Hickinbotham Vineyard in Clarendon, on the elevated northern edge of McLaren Vale.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep ruby to dark garnet.

Nose: Blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry with violet, bay leaf, fennel and subtle liquorice.

Palate: Concentrated yet fresh, with plum and dark berries, dark chocolate, black pepper and fine, grainy tannins.

Finish: Long and savoury, with lingering black fruit, herbs, liquorice and cocoa.
