Robert Foley Chardonnay 2023

Robert Foley Vineyards was founded by acclaimed Napa Valley winemaker Robert Foley, whose decades of experience crafting some of California’s most respected wines have earned him a reputation for precision, balance, and site-driven winemaking. While best known for structured mountain-grown reds, Foley’s white wines demonstrate the same attention to detail and commitment to purity of expression.

The 2023 Chardonnay is sourced from select California vineyard sites chosen for their ability to produce fruit with both concentration and natural acidity. Cooler growing conditions and a long ripening season in 2023 helped preserve freshness while allowing for excellent flavour development and aromatic complexity.

Winemaking emphasizes balance rather than excessive oak influence. Careful barrel fermentation and lees aging contribute texture and integration, while restrained use of French oak allows the wine’s fruit character and mineral freshness to remain central. The result is a Chardonnay that balances richness with vibrancy and structure.

Tasting Notes

Colour
Bright golden straw with pale green highlights.

Nose
Aromatic layers of ripe pear, white peach, citrus blossom, and lemon curd are complemented by subtle notes of vanilla, toasted almond, and light baking spice.

Palate
Medium- to full-bodied with vibrant acidity and a creamy, textured mouthfeel. Flavours of orchard fruit, citrus, and stone fruit are balanced by hints of brioche, minerality, and well-integrated oak.

Finish
Long, polished, and refreshing with lingering citrus, soft spice, and mineral notes.

Cellaring & Pairings

Cellaring
Enjoy now or cellar for 4–7 years for additional texture and complexity.

Pairings
Excellent with lobster, roast chicken, creamy seafood dishes, risotto, grilled halibut, and soft-ripened cheeses. Its balance of richness and acidity also pairs beautifully with butter-based sauces and roasted poultry dishes.
