S.M.O.S. Reserve Parcel No. 9 Caol Ila 8 Year Old

The Single Malts of Scotland Caol Ila 8 Year Old Reserve Casks Parcel No. 9 is an independently bottled Islay single malt from Elixir Distillers. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2022, this small-batch release was assembled from six casks selected by Elixir Distillers' Oliver Chilton.

The whisky spent eight years maturing in six American oak barrels, selected and combined for the ninth parcel of the Reserve Casks series.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden amber.
Nose: Sea breeze, peat smoke and smoked bacon, followed by lemon zest, grapefruit, vanilla and a touch of liquorice.
Palate: Slightly oily, with salted caramel, grilled meats, lemon, lime and blood orange, balanced by white pepper, ginger and toasted oak.
Finish: Lingering bonfire smoke, sea salt and citrus peel, with warming ginger, pepper and gentle oak spice.
