Sonoma Cutrer Russian River Chardonnay "The Cutrer"

Founded in 1981, Sonoma-Cutrer has become one of California's benchmark Chardonnay producers, earning acclaim for its vineyard-designate wines and Burgundian-inspired approach to winemaking. The winery focuses on estate vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast, where cool Pacific influences, morning fog, and well-drained soils create ideal conditions for Chardonnay.

The Cutrer is sourced from select vineyards in the Russian River Valley AVA, where the region's cool climate allows for slow, even ripening and exceptional flavour development. The combination of Goldridge sandy loam and clay-rich soils contributes both richness and vibrant acidity, resulting in wines that balance generosity with precision. The wine is fermented in French oak barrels, with a portion undergoing malolactic fermentation to soften acidity and add creamy texture.
