Springbank 31 years 1992/2024 Xtra Old Particular-Black Series Douglas Laing (46.3%)

The Black Series as part of the popular Xtra Old Particular range represents the ultra premium segment of the independent bottling company Douglas Laing. The first bottling in this series is an exceptional single malt from the popular Springbank distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. Distilled in July 1992, the whisky matured in a single refill hogshead and, after around 31 years of maturation, was bottled in February 2024 in just 176 bottles at cask strength with 46.3% vol. This rare whisky needs time to reveal its gentle oak and salt biscuit tones before developing a smooth palate full of soft, subtle peat, malt grist and maple syrup notes - with spicy butterscotch and honey on the finish. The bottling comes in a fine packaging and each bottle is hand-filled, certified and signed by Fred and Cara Laing.
