Weller Antique 107

W.L. Weller Antique 107 is produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and is part of the Weller family of wheated bourbons. The brand is named after William Larue Weller, a 19th-century whiskey pioneer credited with introducing wheat as the secondary grain in bourbon mash bills, replacing the more common rye. This substitution results in a softer, smoother flavour profile while maintaining the richness expected from Kentucky straight bourbon.

Commonly referred to as “OWA” (Old Weller Antique), the whiskey is bottled at 107 proof (53.5% ABV), giving it a fuller body and greater intensity than many wheated bourbons. Like all bourbons, it is aged in new charred American oak barrels and produced according to strict U.S. regulations. Its combination of sweetness, warmth, and balance has made it one of the most recognizable expressions in the Weller lineup.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet caramel and vanilla layered with dark fruit, honey, and subtle baking spice.

Palate: Rich and smooth with toffee, brown sugar, and vanilla balanced by gentle spice and soft wheat sweetness.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering caramel, light oak, and a touch of cinnamon spice.
