Another terrific bottling in the ‘Battle of the Saints’ mini-series from St. Lucian distillers Admiral Rodney. Like the other bottlings in this range, the expression celebrates one of the ships commanded by Admiral Rodney in the Battle of the Saints – a crucial victory which established British naval dominance in the Caribbean. This is the oldest bottling in the ‘Battle of the Saints’, with all the rums used in the blend between nine and 12 years old. All the spirit was distilled in Coffey stills, and aged in former Bourbon barrels. The result is a luscious and decadent rum, which delivers waves of bright toasted oak, vanilla, chocolate, tropical fruit, dried fruit, molasses, mahogany, pot-pourri and mango. An extraordinary, extra-old rum from a top-quality producer.
