Bowmore 40 Year Old 2022 (Preorder)

Bowmore 40 Year Old 2022 is an exceptionally limited release from Bowmore Distillery, founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal and recognized as Islay’s oldest operational distillery. Matured for four decades in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, the whisky demonstrates how extended aging transforms Bowmore’s characteristic peat smoke, allowing richer fruit, chocolate, nuts, tobacco, and mature oak to emerge while the smoke becomes increasingly subtle and integrated.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich dates and ripe mango mingle with dark chocolate and caramel, creating a concentrated combination of mature fruit and deep sweetness.

Palate: Dark chocolate and dried tobacco develop into praline and roasted chestnuts, with subtle Islay peat smoke providing balance beneath the richer flavours.

Finish: Full-bodied, exceptionally long, and luxurious, with lingering chocolate, roasted nuts, mature oak, and delicately fading smoke.
