Clase Azul Tequila Limited Edition Spirit of Champions was unveiled in April 2026 as a celebration of Mexico's role as a host nation during one of the year's biggest global sporting moments. The inspiration is unmistakably tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States, but there is an important distinction: this is not an official FIFA product and Clase Azul has no affiliation with or endorsement from FIFA or the tournament. Instead, the brand describes it as an independent cultural expression celebrating unity, passion and the pursuit of greatness. The use of large French oak vats rather than conventional barrels is particularly interesting. Clase Azul says the vessels encourage a slower and more nuanced relationship between tequila and wood, emphasizing aromatic refinement and structure rather than overwhelming the agave with oak.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Cooked agave and toasted wood lead into coconut, fresh vanilla and almond, with white pepper, beeswax and warm toasted bread adding savoury complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied and rounded with sweet cooked agave at its core, developing into walnut, almond and roasted coconut. The oak adds structure without burying the underlying agave character.

Finish: Long and elegant, leaving roasted nuts and agave behind as sweet, warming cinnamon spice gradually takes over.
