Selected by Craft Cellars and bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd, this expression showcases the distinctive character of Benrinnes, a Speyside distillery established in 1826.

With over 325 years of history, Berry Bros & Rudd is Britains original wine and spirits merchant, family-owned since 1698. Our carefully curated single casks are bottled without artificial colouring and are non chill-filtered, to preserve the full depth of their natural flavour.

Benrinnes distillery lies in the shadow of the eponymous mountain, near the River Spey. An earlier distillery bearing the name was flooded in 1829; today, the current distillery sits on safer ground.

Benrinnes' natural weighty character sits comfortably beneath the oloroso influence, delivery a whisky of solid structure and balance. Raisins and sticky dates arrive first, followed by layers of cocoa, fruitcake and dark caramel. Toasted nuts lend depth and savoury richness, while hints of orange peel and baking spice lift the darker notes. The palate remains firmly built around the distillate, carrying a robust maltiness through the sweeter sherry tones. The finish is long and drying, with lingering walnut, cocoa powder and oak spice.
