Auchentoshan 12 Year Old

Auchentoshan 12 Year Old is produced at Auchentoshan Distillery, located just outside Glasgow and one of the few Scottish distilleries to continue the tradition of triple distillation. Established in 1823, the distillery is renowned for producing an exceptionally light and elegant spirit, with the third distillation creating a softer, fruit-forward profile that distinguishes it from most Scotch whiskies. This expression is matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of American bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at 40% ABV. The marriage of these casks enhances the whisky's signature citrus and vanilla notes with layers of toasted nuts, subtle spice, and rich sweetness, making it an excellent introduction to the Lowland style.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright aromas of crème brûlée, honey, toasted almonds, citrus zest, vanilla, and soft floral notes are complemented by hints of baking spice and fresh barley.

Palate: Smooth and creamy with flavours of vanilla custard, caramel, ripe tangerine, honey, toasted hazelnuts, gentle cinnamon, and delicate oak wrapped around a light malt character.

Finish: Medium-long and clean with lingering vanilla, citrus peel, toasted oak, soft spice, and a touch of sherried sweetness.
