Torre Mora "Cauru" Etna Rosso Cauru

Torre Mora "Cauru" Etna Rosso Cauru

This has a complex nose with earthy character, offering ripe cherries, black raspberries, hints of cocoa and dried tangerine peel. Medium-bodied, fine-textured and dusty on the palate with polished tannins and a tense mineral edge. Focused, structured and very attractive.- James Suckling (2023v)

Torre Mora "Cauru" Etna Rosso Cauru

Torre Mora "Cauru" Etna Rosso Cauru

Torre Mora, part of the Piccini family estates, farms vineyards on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Cauru combines fruit from two sites on Etna’s northeastern side, Linguaglossa and Rovittello, where mineral-rich volcanic soils and significant day-to-night temperature shifts help Nerello Mascalese retain freshness and aromatic intensity. The name Cauru means “hot” in Sicilian, referencing the heat and energy associated with Etna’s volcanic soils.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright ruby red.

Palate: Medium-bodied and energetic, with cherry, cranberry and pomegranate supported by fine tannins, lively acidity and smoky volcanic minerality.
Finish: Long and vibrant, with lingering red fruit, citrus, spice and a distinctly saline mineral edge.
