Carpineto 2020/21 Chianti Classico Riserva

Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2020/21 is a refined Sangiovese-based wine from the core zone of Chianti Classico in Tuscany, made under DOCG rules that require longer aging than standard Chianti Classico before release. The fruit is carefully selected from estate vineyards around Greve in Chianti and fermented to preserve varietal purity. After primary fermentation the wine is matured in oak barrels for extended time to build structure and complexity, and then aged further in bottle to integrate fruit and oak, giving a polished yet powerful character. This Riserva style reflects both the vibrant acidity typical of Chianti Classico and the depth that comes from added aging and oak influence.

Tasting Notes:
In the glass the wine shows intense ruby red color and offers a classic Tuscan bouquet of ripe red fruit such as raspberry and cherry with notes of vanilla, spice and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate it is full and harmonious with firm but silky tannins, flavors of dark fruit framed by savory herbs and gentle oak spice, and a long finish that blends fruit, spice and a hint of tobacco or leather. Its structure and balanced acidity make it versatile with food or rewarding with short-term cellaring.
