Château Clerc Milon 2021, Pauillac, Bordeaux Red Blend

Château Clerc Milon is a wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of the Haut-Médoc region north of Bordeaux city, on the so-called left bank of the Gironde estuary. It was rated a fifth growth in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc and Graves. Clerc Milons Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wine is known for its supple texture and is regarded as something of a bargain for the appellation. The wines from Château Clerc Milon do require a bit of time before being enjoyed – as one can expect with the best of Pauillacs. The wines possess a perfect balance of power and fruit.  Château Clerc Milon tends to appreciate when purchased en primeur, increasing in value and critical acclaim as the years progress – especially in noteworthy vintages. They have plenty of charm and are considered a cult wine because of their loyal following. Expert Tasting Notes: Sappy, concentrated, powerful, this is a wine that has a lot of power naturally and in a vintage like 2021 (and with higher Cabernet Franc and higher Carmanère than the past few years), it runs the risk of being austere. Certainly you feel a sterner character than over the past few years, but there is flexibility in the tannins, and well-worked blackcurrant and blackberry fruit. Will benefit from fattening up through the mid palate over ageing, because all the elements are here. - Jane Anson, 92 Points Cabernet Sauvignon 59%, Merlot 28%, Cabernet Franc 10%, Petit Verdot 1.5%, Carmenère 1.5% Best Enjoyed 2027- 2042
