Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle Gift Tin

The “Grand Siècle” is the name given to one of the most prosperous periods in the history of France (17th Century), known for the capacity of man, through his achievements, to create what nature, alone, cannot. Louis XIV, the “Sun King”, through the completion of the Château de Versailles and its gardens, was the architect of a model of harmony, balance and perfection. The symmetry and perspectives of the “French Gardens”, the ability to cultivate Mediterranean species (notably oranges in the Orangery of Château de Louvois, Domaine Champagne Laurent-Perrier), the creation of the Grand Canal, fountains and basins without any surrounding watercourse are all illustrations of mans success in sublimating the elements provided by Nature. Based on this common vision of achieving a perfection that Nature cannot create alone, the name “Grand Siècle” was chosen to christen the Prestige Cuvée from Maison Laurent-Perrier. If the vintage in Champagne is generally considered synonymous with excellence for Prestige Cuvées, on the contrary, at Laurent-Perrier, our conviction is that the art of blending can allow us to create what nature will not give us. never: the perfect year. The expression of the perfect year is that of a great Champagne wine having developed a deep aromatic intensity and complexity, while managing to preserve its freshness and acidity over time, ensuring great aging potential. 2012 (65%), 2008 (25%), 2007 (10%) Chardonnay (58%), Pinot Noir (42%) Critical Acclaim 100 points -James Suckling This is really something. Electric on the palate. The aromas are so complex with sliced fresh and dried ginger, subtle pie crust, tarte tatin and hints of nutmeg with some salted caramel. Toasted bread, too. Always subtle. The palate is full- to medium-bodied yet hemmed-in with a freshness and balance that draws you back. Savory and vibrant. Its full of energy. Spectacular. Fascinating. Symphonic blend of 2012, 2008 and 2007. 65% of the 2012, 25% of the 2008 and 10% of the 2007. Eight grand cru. Chardonnay 58% and 42% pinot noir. Disgorged February 2023. 10 years on the lees. 7g/L dosage.
