WRAITH is all about the chance to experience the three incredible creatures (the Hundred Acre single vineyards) working together in symphony and perfect harmony to tell you about the vintage in all of its glory. In all of our vineyards, we pick only when the fruit is perfectly ripe; this doesn’t always happen at once. It is common for us to make multiple passes through the vineyard, picking different clusters from the same vines as they reach perfect maturity is attention to detail is critical to making a wine the caliber of Hundred Acre. VINTAGE NOTES The 2018 is a monolithic year that must be given a great deal of respect. The 2018 vintage is not funny, it is deadly serious and makes me stop in my tracks, it was a beautiful vintage, one of my happiest and maybe my happiest ever. I smile when I think of the 2018 and just keep smiling. TASTING NOTES Deep garnet-purple, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Wraith drifts effortlessly out of the glass with compelling scents of Morello cherries, boysenberry preserves and blackcurrant pastilles, plus hints of unsmoked cigars, wild sage, underbrush and pencil shavings. The taut, tightly packed, muscular, full-bodied palate quakes with energy, supported by beautifully ripe, grainy tannins, finishing incredibly long and provocatively perfumed.
