Primo 1861 Blanco

Primo 1861 Blanco

A beautifully traditional Highland tequila that puts cooked agave ahead of sweetness or oak. Silky and expressive with citrus, orange blossom, olive, herbs and earthy minerality, it offers a savoury, distinctly agave-forward profile with a clean, gently warming finish.

Primo 1861 Blanco

Primo 1861 Blanco comes from the Camarena family, whose roots in agave cultivation and tequila production stretch back generations in Los Altos de Jalisco. The name pays tribute to Pedro Camarena Ramírez, born in 1861, an important figure in the family's tequila history who established an early distillery in Arandas.
The current Blanco is made from 100% Tequilana Weber Blue Agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco. According to Primo's current technical information, the piñas are cooked for 48 hours in stone ovens, crushed using a roller mill, then undergo spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast in wooden tanks.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Cooked agave leads with orange and floral aromas, joined by green olive, subtle oak and fresh herbal notes.

Palate: Silky and agave-forward with olive, citrus and orange layered over floral and earthy flavours. Pepper, herbs and mineral notes add a savoury edge, while the natural sweetness of cooked agave keeps everything balanced.

Finish: Clean and gently warming with lingering cooked agave, citrus, herbs and mineral character, ending with a subtle sweetness and soft peppery spice
