Signatory Macduff 100 Proof Exceptional

Signatory Vintage Macduff 16 Year Old 100 Proof Exceptional Cask Edition #3 was distilled at Macduff Distillery in 2007 and bottled by independent bottler Signatory Vintage in 2024. Matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, it was bottled at 57.1% ABV, equivalent to 100° British proof, without chill filtration or added colouring. Despite the "Exceptional Cask" name, this is a small-batch release rather than a single-cask whisky.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Dark and earthy with leather, tobacco, roasted almonds, dried herbs and dark chocolate, opening into orange peel, raisins and thyme honey.

Palate: Rich and creamy with orange marmalade, chocolate-coated prunes, raisins and honey alongside roasted nuts, liquorice, black pepper and pipe tobacco. The first-fill Oloroso brings substantial richness while retaining enough fruit to keep the whisky balanced.

Finish: Long and warming with jammy prunes, dark chocolate, tobacco, liquorice and a subtle touch of coriander seed.
