Signatory Macduff 13 Year Old 2011 100 Proof

Signatory Vintage Macduff 13 Year Old 2011 100 Proof Edition #55 was distilled at Macduff in 2011 and bottled in 2025. The whisky matured in a combination of first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry butts, giving the bottling substantial sherry influence while allowing more of Macduff’s underlying malt character to remain present than an exclusively first-fill maturation might. It was bottled at 57.1% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Dried red fruits, raisins and figs lead into honeycomb and orange peel, followed by nutty toffee, dark chocolate and polished oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and warming with raisin loaf, spiced apple, dried fruit and rich sherry sweetness. Bitter chocolate, cinnamon and hazelnut praline add depth, balanced by Macduff’s underlying malt and gentle nuttiness.

Finish: Medium to long with lingering warming spice, dark chocolate, light tobacco and demerara-like sweetness, becoming gently dry and nutty toward the end.
