Adagio 2020 Brunello di Montalcino

Adagio 2020 Brunello di Montalcino

The nose pops with the tang of bing cherry, cranberry, hibiscus, blood orange and new leather. Those notes all continue on the palate, before a warm, spicy finish where polished, smooth tannins anchor a river of acid. - Wine Enthusiast

Adagio 2020 Brunello di Montalcino

Adagio 2020 Brunello di Montalcino

Adagio 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is a refined expression of one of Tuscany’s most prestigious appellations. Made from 100% Sangiovese (locally called Brunello), the grapes come from select hillside vineyards around Montalcino where warm days and cool nights encourage full phenolic ripeness with balanced natural acidity. After careful hand-harvesting and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, the wine undergoes long maturation in large Slavonian oak casks. This extended aging—mandated for Brunello di Montalcino—softens tannins and builds layered complexity while allowing pure fruit character to integrate with gentle oxidative nuances. Before release, the wine also rests in bottle to harmonize its structure and aromatics.

Tasting Notes:
On the nose, Adagio 2020 delivers a nuanced bouquet of wild cherry, red plum, and dried herbs with hints of leather, tobacco leaf, and sweet spice. The palate is generous yet distinctly Brunello—medium to full-bodied with vibrant acidity and fine, persistent tannins. Flavors of Morello cherry and raspberry are complemented by earth, clove, and anise, leading to a long, savory finish where mineral tones and gentle oak spice linger. This is a wine built for both early enjoyment and further cellaring.
