Amrut Greedy Angels 12 Year Old Chairman’s Reserve

This Special Offering we have matured in Ex-PX Sherry Cask for over 6 years first before transferring into Ex-Bourbon casks, a reversal of our usual process and an unusual one. Tasting Notes Nose : how odd: matured inland, yet distinctly coastal in its light saltiness. This sits wonderfully well with the most delicate of blood orange notes... which after a while sweetens towards a Jaffa cake middle. The spices hint and tease while the vanilla fades in and out, taking turns with thin ulmo honey: perfection; Taste : Soft delivery with the accent at first jointly shared between the barley and vanilla, then the oak takes control moving towards a lightly spiced cocoa. Elsewhere a thin layer of ulmo honey secures the required sweetness; Finish : Some tangy orange returns, a distant echo of spice hangs off the persistent barley oil.
