This 11-year-old Staoisha opens with a commanding nose of smoldering peat smoke, iodine, and sea spray, followed by hints of lemon oil, green apple, and burnt sugar. The palate is rich and oily, delivering layers of earthy smoke, barbecue char, and toasted malt, lifted by flashes of white pepper and anise. Despite its peated punch, the whisky remains harmonious, with a long, briny finish laced with damp ash, oak spice, and lingering citrus zest.
