Carn Mor Strictly Limited Dailuaine 8 Year Old Red Wine Cask Finish (47.5%)

This 8 year old scotch whisky was distilled in 2013 at the Speyside Dailuaine distillery. After an initial maturation in barrels this whisky was finished for an additional period of maturation in ex-red wine casks. Prior to bottling the whisky was proofed back to 47.5% ABV, with no chill-filtration or colour added. 1728 bottles were produced. The whisky has an excellent texture, a fattiness that has become the hall-mark of Dailuaine whisky. The wine finish has added subtle red berry notes (cherries and strawberries), but not excessively so. The finish has been extremely well managed, adding complexity in an elegant and subtle way. The palate has stewed apples, sherbet, ginger spice and a delightfully dry medium-long finish. Distilled 2013, bottled 2021.
