Chateau Viramiere 2020 St Emilion Grand Cru

From the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, the 2020 vintage benefited from a favourable growing season and high ripeness levels. The wine is predominantly Merlot with smaller proportions of Cabernet (Franc and/or Sauvignon) and is vinified in concrete vats followed by ageing in barrels to build structure and depth.

This wine displays aromas of ripe red and dark cherries, blackberry, with touches of vanilla, smoke, and earthy spice. On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied, offering smooth dark fruit, firm tannins and good freshness. The finish is elegant and well balanced, with subtle savoury undertones.

The ideal drinking window is approximately 2025 to 2032-2034, with peak enjoyment expected around 2026-2030.
