Courvoisier L’Essence x Huang Jiannan Lunar New Year Edition

Premium cognac house Maison Courvoisier has teamed up with the acclaimed Chinese painter and artist, Jiannan Huang, to create an exclusive Lunar New Year trio of cognacs celebrating the Year of the Dragon. As an artist born in the Year of the Dragon, Jiannan Huang has meticulously infused his expertise in enamel and traditional Chinese artistry into the creation of these remarkable cognac bottles. The specially designed series includes the Courvoisier Year of the Dragon Blend, telling a unique story that symbolises the auspiciousness and power associated with the mythical dragon. The Courvoisier Year of the Dragon Blend, the first in the collection, comprises a blend of eaux-de-vie from previous Dragon Years, some dating back to the last century. This 42% ABV cognac has been bottled in a crystal decanter by luxury manufacturer Baccarat. The artistic ceramic pedestal, exclusively crafted by Huang Jiannan Art, complements the blend, highlighting the teardrop shape associated with Courvoisier. Producer note. Richly coloured and glowing with a fine glimmering copper hue, this complex expression opens with exquisite notes of sandalwood and cigar leaves with the subtle perfume of early summer blossom, followed by toffee, marzipan and fresh honey. The sweet sophistication and smouldering intensity of each sip develops to bring surprisingly delicate notes of liquorice, dried plum and apricot building to a decadent and lingering finish.
