Bunnahabhain 2009 – 14 Year Old – Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail) – Cask Strength

This exceptional single malt from Islay's Bunnahabhain Distillery was carefully matured in a refill sherry hogshead, bottled after 14 years at a natural cask strength of 55.9%. Distilled in 2009 and drawn from cask number 18600105, only 314 bottles were produced, making this a rare and flavour-packed expression selected for The Whisky Explorer Society.

Tasting Notes:
On the nose, cured meat aromas emerge first, giving way to Demerara sugar and salted lemons. The palate is rich and complex, with stewed raisin flavours complemented by dried banana, aniseed, and gentle smoke. The finish is full and lingering, with bonfire embers and toasted oak leaving a memorable impression.

Non-chill filtered and with no added colour, this is a bold, flavour-forward whisky that captures the smoky elegance and coastal character of Bunnahabhain in a unique sherried form.
