Gray Monk Merlot LE

Gray Monk Estate Winery, established in 1972, is one of British Columbia’s founding wineries and a key contributor to the development of the Okanagan Valley wine industry. Situated near Okanagan Lake, the estate benefits from moderating climatic influences that support balanced ripening. The Limited Edition (LE) tier represents Gray Monk’s premium range, focusing on selected vineyard parcels and enhanced winemaking techniques. Merlot performs well in the Okanagan’s warm, sunlit conditions, developing ripe fruit while retaining sufficient acidity.

Colour: Deep ruby with garnet hues
Nose: Aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and blackberry, with notes of cocoa, vanilla, and subtle spice
Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with rich dark fruit flavours, smooth tannins, and balanced acidity; hints of chocolate, cedar, and oak spice add depth
Finish: Supple and persistent, with lingering fruit and gentle spice
