Halos de Jupiter 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape

Halos de Jupiter is the Rhône Valley project of acclaimed winemaker Philippe Cambie, one of the region’s most influential consultants prior to his passing in 2021. The winery focuses on producing terroir-driven wines from classic southern Rhône appellations, emphasizing purity of fruit, balance, and traditional regional character.
The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is primarily Grenache-based, sourced from vineyards planted on the appellation’s iconic galets roulés (rounded stones), sandy soils, and clay-limestone sites. These soils store heat during the day and release it at night, helping grapes achieve full ripeness and concentration.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep ruby with garnet and purple reflections

Nose: Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum layered with notes of garrigue, licorice, black pepper, lavender, and subtle smoky spice

Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe dark fruit flavours, velvety tannins, and balanced acidity; layers of spice, herbs, cocoa, and mineral notes create depth and complexity

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dark fruit, savoury herbs, spice, and earthy Rhône character
