Michael David 2021/22 Petite Petit

Michael David’s Petite Petit is built around a bold, fruit-packed blend dominated by Petite Sirah with a smaller portion of Petit Verdot (approximately 85/15 in 2021; the 2022 follows a similar structure). Grapes from Lodi’s warm, sunny climate provide naturally high ripeness, producing deep colour and robust concentration.

Aromatically the wine bursts with dark, jam-laden fruits like blackberry, boysenberry and black cherry—layered with notes of vanilla, licorice, and subtle floral hints. The palate is full-bodied and plush, driven by ripe black-fruit flavours wrapped in warm baking-spice and toasty oak accents. Firm tannins provide grip beneath the richness, while the finish lingers with dark fruit, spice and a touch of cocoa. The overall impression is intense, bold and deeply fruit-forward, offering a hearty, satisfying style for lovers of concentrated reds.
